Parqwood Apartments #COLORMEHEALTHY

June 7, 2021 —  #ColorMeHealthy, is the theme of an upcoming event at Parqwood Apartments, 2125 Parkwood Ave. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15th.

The event is put on by the Toledo Office on Minority Health under the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department Office of Minority Health.

“It is our goal to Promote, Motivate and Promote,” said Kimberly Toles, with the Office on Minority Health. “We are attempting to build awareness around the disparities that exist in communities of color — including health care coverage, racism, disease prevention, health screenings, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.”

There will also be a focus on the healthy start program, learn about pregnancy and caring for baby, best sleep practices, involving fathers, eat healthy, and support breastfeeding. There will also be mental health and behavioral health resources, elderly care, Narcan training, and much more.
