MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2025 — A Lead Safe Toledo Landlord-Tenant Education Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Main Branch of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library.

This event is part of the National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week and supports the city of Toledo’s #LeadSafeToledo initiative, which is working to eliminate childhood lead poisoning through education and enforcement of the city’s lead safe law.

Effective Sept. 17, 2025 the city of Toledo is responsible for processing Lead-Safe Certificates applications and administering  the city’s Lead-Safe Law.

On Thursday landlords will meet in the McMaster Center on the second floor at the library with sessions focused of compliance with the law, disclosures, and identifying lead hazards.

Tenants will meet in the Small Glass Meeting Room on the first floor with sessions focused on identifying lead hazards and lead-safe cleaning.

The fair is sponsored by the Toledo Lead Resources Center, the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department, Toledo Lead Poisoning Prevention Coalition, and the Fair Housing Center.

All participants will be provided lunch and the first 50 tenants will be given a lead safe cleaning kit valued at $90.
